The Small Habits Do the Most Damage

Habits are essential to being successful, that isn’t a secret. Most of life is just habits and patterns of behavior. To create the life you desire, you have to look at the small things you do. When talking to most people they minimize the “small” habits. But even the small, insignificant habits have to be watched because if left unchecked, they do the most damage.

Small habits like carelessly throwing words around, being disrespectful, saying things you want to say that don’t add value. You can easily spot people trying to make excuses for these habits such as “I need to vent”, “they deserve it”, “they shouldn’t have done that”. People practice these habits at work, at home, out shopping and in all other areas of life. All day long people make excuses for these things.

Other small patterns of behavior that prevent people from reaching their goals are showing up late, surfing the internet at work and simply not being their best. These seem small but they can quickly turn into big issues if you aren’t careful. It is subtle things like these that we don’t pay enough attention to and cause us to move from the path that will take us to the goals we’ve set.
