Your Psychology Voice – Coaching for Improvement Part One

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote, “the human voice is the organ of the soul”. This quote couldn’t be truer for quality coaching.

The voice of the coach is the foundation of the coaching session. It should sound like an organ that ignites the soul and inspires improvement. Developing your psychology voice means you are using a soft tone, modulating your voice, staying quiet, and being ready to turn a question back to the person being coached.

Quality coaching is asking non-leading questions and displaying the appropriate amount of empathy. Speaking with honesty, integrity, and love while remaining firm and fair when needed. Your psychology voice is an important asset in the coaching process. Develop your psychology voice using the eight points below and start improving the quality of your coaching sessions.
