Tuesday Tip: It’s Only Unfair for a Moment

People get so wrapped up in feeling something is unfair. When you take the time to reflect on how you got to where you are, you just might realize it was because at some point something was unfair.

It was unfair to be the last one picked for a team.

It was unfair to have to stay behind to finish your task.

It was unfair that you didn’t get that promotion.

It was unfair that someone cut you off while driving.

It was unfair that you didn’t get acknowledged with a trophy.

It was unfair that…

Focusing on what was unfair instead of what might become causes you to miss the reason it didn’t happen. Maybe you didn’t get that promotion but got a better one. Maybe you were picked last but your team won. Maybe you didn’t get the trophy but you got a raise or bonus.

Yes it seemed unfair at the time but what was unfair then is what brought you to where you are now. It brought you to something better. It introduced you to people you have bonded with, learned from and love. What was once unfair put you in front of the people who needed what you had to offer. It made you try harder. It wasn’t unfair it exactly what you needed at exactly the right time to bring you to where you are today.
